Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is a very effective, non-invasive exfoliating facial in which improves the texture and brightness of the skin. A Dermaplaning scalpel is angled skilfully to glide over the skin to remove fine facial hair as well as dead skin build-up. This process ultimately exfoliates, brightens and smooths the skin leaving you with radiant glow. Can anyone have this facial? Dermaplaning is great for anyone who wants to improve the appearance of their skin. This treatment is widely available for both men and women (who are also pregnant, and nursing). As this is a non- invasive treatment there is no down time after the treatment however, it is advised to stay out of direct sunlight and sunbeds 2 weeks after this treatment. Why Dermaplaning? Dermaplaning removes the build-up of dead skin cells creating brighter glow and fine lines less defined. With the removal of hair, there is nowhere for acne-causing bacteria to lay on the skin, helping aid less breakouts. The removal of both hair and dead skin reveals a brighter, smoother and cleaner appearance to the skin as well as being soft to the touch. What are the benefits of Dermaplaning? ❖ No down time ❖ 20% - 60% better product absorption ❖ Better makeup application ❖ Reduces breakouts ❖ Removes the facial hair that constantly traps dirt and oils ❖ A gentle, non-invasive treatment that removes dead skin cells and “peach fuzz” facial hair ❖ Ideal for both oily and dry skin Does Dermaplaning hurt? No. The scalpel is angles in such a way that it glides over the skin. The treatment is finished with a cooling mask and a SPF moisturiser to bring a soothing, glowing finish to the treatment. Will my hair grow back darker and thicker? No. The hair is removed from the surface of the face. The remaining hair follicle is not affected, so it will continue to grow the same density and colour as before. Before Dermaplaning; ❖ Stop Retin-A products for 5 days before your appointment ❖ Avoid laser treatments 4 weeks before treatment ❖ No Chemical Peels at least 2 weeks before your Dermaplaning facial ❖ No waxing 7 days prior ❖ Please inform me if you are pregnant or nursing

Chemical Skin Peel

Using organic acids such as Mandelic, Lactix, Salicylic and Glycolic, Chemical Peels normalise the skins keratinisation process, thus restoring the epidermis normal rhythms, activating the skin's rejuvenation process, increasing collagen and elastin production and hydration the skin. A course of 4-6 peels is recommended for optimum results. Light treatments are recommended every 2-5 weeks, medium treatments recommended every 3-9 months. Chemical Peels give instant results and are relatively non-insive, resulting in dry skin that take a couple of days to shed. Peels remove dead skin to reveal fresh, smoother skin. There are peels for all skin types, with varying strengths. Peels are an excellent ass-on treatments to Microneedling and Dermaplaning facials. After Care

Microneedling

Microneedling is a non-surgical cosmetic treatment which tightens, rejuvenates and lifts the skin, resulting in a refreshing more youthful looking complexion. It is a quick and highly effective treatment. As this treatment is about your body producing collagen, a series of 3-6 treatments is recommended, as results take time, every 4-6 weeks. Each person is unique so some may see results quickly, whereas others might need to wait for a period of 3 months with regular treatments before full results are shown. Specific formulated serums are used for the targeted skin conditions and skin issues. Hyaluronic acid serum is used primarily as a glide serum for Microneedling. These treatments and serums reduce the appearance of rosacea, hyperpigmentation, age-spots, large pores, dull complexions, dehydrated sun-damaged skin, anti-aging, fine line, stretch marks, wrinkles as well as acne-prone skin and scarring. How does Microneedling work? The Dermapen Microneedling device holds a needle cartridge. The cartridge contains either 12 or 36 ultra-fine sterile titanium needles (one use only). A chosen serum is applied to the skin to glide the device effortlessly over the skin. The very fine needles puncture the skin quickly, making thousands of microscopic vertical channels per second. This controlled injury starts the healing process and your body produces collagen and elastin. This device allows different depths depending on the thickness of the skin being treated. The needle cartridge is small and can work into tight area, around the eyes, nose and lips. The small channels created close after 10 minutes sealing in the chosen serum leaving you with a healthy glow. What are the benefits of Microneedling? Microneedling is an effective treatment showing improvements in the following skin disorders and conditions: ❖ Wrinkles – face, neck and décolletage ❖ Premature ageing ❖ Lax skin – improving firmness and elasticity ❖Enlarged pores ❖ Acne scarring – improving the appearance of scars ❖ Surgery scarring – tummy tuck scars, face-lift scars, ect ❖ Stretch marks ❖ Smoothing the skin’s surface ❖ Evening out skin tones ❖ Rosacea ❖ Hyperpigmentation – encouraging the skin’s natural pigmentation back into treated area. As we age our bodies reduce a lower grade of natural production of the skins supporting cells, fibroblasts, and the skin’s collagen and elastin, naturally diminish leading to wrinkles, sagging and hollows. Microneedling stimulates the skins healing response encouraging the production of growth factors by getting your own body to effectively produce better quality collagen, fibroblasts and elastin benefiting the skins targeted area. Preparing for your microneedling session A week before treatment refrain from tanning, stop using retinol-A facial creams. If you are on any acne reducing medication stop this, but please check with your doctor first. No waxing for 7 days prior. A month before treatment ensure any laser treatments are finished, any cosmetic tattooing is healed and no chemical peels for a month. You CANNOT have microneedling if you are pregnant or nursing. Immediately following treatment your skin will be red, swollen and tight.

After Care

It is imperative that you use a sunscreen with a SPF of at least 30 after the initial 24 hours and avoid direct sunlight, ie no sunbeds for at least 1 month. Clients with hypersensitivity to the sun should take extra precautions to guard against exposure. Following your microneedling session your skin may stay red for the rest of the day. The redness will reduce over the next couple of days. Keeping the skin hydrated will help further reducing the redness. Refrain from using make-up as this will block the pores and cause more irritation. Please avoid strenuous exercise, that make you sweat, until all redness and inflammation has dissipated, it is advised that you avoid for at least 48 hours. This includes hot baths, saunas and the gym. You may have itchy, peeling or flaky skin for a few days. DO NOT PICK OR PULL THE SKIN! Instead use an enzyme serum to hydrate and replenish the skin with hyaluronic acid (HA) serum. Let your skin exfoliate naturally for at least 7 days after your treatment. Keep it moisturized at all times. Day 7-14 – Stimulate collagen production At this stage your skin starts to regenerate, you need college-stimulating products. Collagen-stimulating peptides to maximize the effects of the stimulation already begun by the microneedling.
